Army has no role in politics as future of country rests in democracy: DG ISPR

Director General of Inter Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar has categorically stated that the Pakistan Army has no role in politics as future of Pakistan rests in democracy.

In a detailed media briefing, he said formation commanders unanimously stressed that democracy, supremacy of law and strengthened institutions working within their constitutional limits are the guarantee of national interests.

Major General Babar Iftikhar said the conference pointed out that the entire nation’s support is the foundation of Armed Forces’ real strength.

The DG ISPR said political stability is very crucial for national security as these are linked with each other.

He said Pakistan Army will never impose martial law in the country.

He appealed the people and the political parties to refrain from grabbing military to the politics
