Filling stations

Filling stations to remain closed tomorrow

People may experience a fuel shortage across the country after the All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Dealers Association planned a strike on November 25 in protest of the government's refusal to increase the dealers' margin.

According to the group, the government has failed to boost the margin by 6%, and no conversations will take place until the requests are met.

The dealers had previously declared that they would stage a demonstration on November 5, but they called it off on November 3 after Minister of Energy Hammad Azhar informed them that their margins on the sale of petroleum products would be enhanced.

The group said that officials were using delaying tactics in the dispute because the government failed to meet the requirement.

In the meantime, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) said in a statement that its filling stations will remain open to serve the public.

Following the announcement of the protest, Hammad Azhar turned to Twitter to say that he was working to settle the matter.
