Internet services disrupted across Pakistan

The telecom authority said an underwater cable that runs 400 kilometres off the coast of Pakistan suffered a malfunction on Tuesday, causing internet outages across the country.
The problem happened in the TransWorld 1 (TW1) cable that connects Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. Officials were monitoring the situation and would continue to provide updates.

A cut in the TransWorld (TW1) underwater cable system was discovered approximately 6 p.m. on Monday, causing an interruption of international bandwidth and possibly degrading internet services for TransWorld bandwidth consumers, according to the statement.
