Jamshed Kundi, a senior civil judge, was detained on Friday on suspicion of raping a woman the day before at his official residence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Lower Dir province.
DPO Irfanullah Khan confirmed the arrest by phone, telling local daily that the victim was recovered from judge's apartment.
According to a handout published by the Peshawar High Court, the civil judge was later suspended, and a judicial magistrate placed him on a one-day physical remand in police prison.
Woman further accused the judge of receiving Rs1.5 million from her sister under the guise of getting a government position for her.
