TLP ends Wazirabad sit-in

Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) declared on Monday that it would stop its sit-in protest in Wazirabad, just days after reaching an unknown agreement with the government.

The development comes after the Ministry of Interior lifted the religious-political party's proscription.

TLP leader Syed Sarwar Shah proclaimed the end of the "dharna," saying that all of the party's workers would return to Masjid Rahmatulil Alameen in Lahore.

He claimed that Mufti Muneeb ur Rahman, who mediated discussions between demonstrators and the administration, ordered them to call it a day when half of their demands were met.

He added that Rahman had promised them that Saad Hussain Rizvi would attend the TLP founder Khadim Hussain Rizvi's first anniversary.
