According to wildlife officials, the longest horned Markhor was hunted down in Chitral's Toshi Shasha protected area by an American citizen called Edward Joseph Hudson.

According to reports, the hunter paid $88,000 to the government as a permit fee to hunt the Markhor under the hunting trophy programme.

In an interview with The Express Tribune, Chitral wildlife range chief Altaf Ali Shah stated the hunted Markhor was 10 years old and had 44-inch horns.
