According to reports in the British press, Queen Elizabeth has declined an award for Oldie of the Year from a magazine.
The Queen, who is 95 years old, declined the honour, stating that "you are only as old as you feel" and that she "doesn't believe she meets the criteria."
"The Queen's declaration that you are "as old as you feel" is also a nudge to let us all know she is not going to stand down as Monarch," royal expert Angela Levin stated in response to her decision.
According to royal correspondent Richard Palmer, the primary Oldie of the Year award went to Leslie Caron, a 90-year-old French-American actress, dancer, and playwright.
In April 2021, the Queen will celebrate her 95th birthday. Her husband, Prince Philip, died in April, just days before the Queen's birthday, at the age of 99.
