Legendary Pakistani actor Sohail Asghar passes away

Sohail Asghar, a veteran actor, died today in Lahore after a long illness.

His wife reported that the actor died at 11:30 a.m. today at a Lahore hospital, where he was under treatment for the previous week. After Asar prayers, his funeral will be performed in Bahria Town tomorrow.

One and a half years ago, the iconic star underwent stomach surgery.

Sohail Asghar, a TV, film, and theatre actor from Lahore, joined Radio Pakistan after finishing his education. From 1978 to 1988, he worked as a radio jockey before beginning his acting career in the PTV drama Raat.

He acted in dramas such as Khuda Ki Basti, Kajal Ghar, Piyas, and others.

In 2003, the actor made his debut in the film "Murad." At the maiden Indus Drama Awards, he received an award for his great performance in this film.
