Faisalabad: Shopkeepers arrested for stripping, beating women in market (VIDEO)

Faisalabad - Police arrested five shopkeepers on Tuesday after accusing them of torturing and stripping three garbage-picking women in a crowded market.

Four affected women, according to the first information report (FIR), went inside an electric store in Millat Town of the city and asked for drinking water.

The women informed police that as soon as they walked into the shop, the owner, Saddam, and three of his employees accused them of stealing and began punching them.
According to the victims, as the merchants were abusing them, more guys from the market joined in and began tormenting them.

The women were pulled out of the shop, stripped naked, and the incident was videotaped, according to the police.

According to police, they received a call from people in the vicinity, arrived to the scene of the incident, and arrested the owner of the electric business as well as three employees.

According to the police, a case has been filed against four identifiable men and eight unnamed men for detaining and torturing the women on the orders of the Central Police Office (CPO) Faisalabad.

The shopkeepers told police that the ladies had stolen items from the shop and that when they were caught, they began tearing up their own clothes, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Naeem Aziz.

According to SP Aziz, several of the women were seen tearing their clothes in the CCTV footage, and their clothes were further damaged as they were taken out of the establishment.
