Sikh Yatris return to India from Pakistan

On Friday, about 2,900 Sikh pilgrims who had gathered in Pakistan to celebrate 552nd birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, crossed the Wagah border into India.

Rana Shahid, the department's Additional Secretary, was at the Wagah border to see off the pilgrims, according to a spokeswoman for the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).

Pardhan Sardar Ameer Singh of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC) and other board members were also present.

Sardar Balwinder Singh, the leader of the Delhi Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, informed the media that the pilgrims were returning to their homeland with love and excitement shared by Pakistanis.

"During our 10-day stay in the nation, everyone was overjoyed with the excellent arrangements offered by the ETPB," Singh remarked. He expressed gratitude to Pakistan, particularly Prime Minister Imran Khan and the ETPB, for taking such good care of them throughout their visits to various holy sites.
